The Wildlife Institute of India,Dehradun


The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is an autonomous government institution was established in 1982 run by the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education(ICFRE) which trains wildlife managers and wildlife researchers.
The institute is run across 200 odd acre campus is home to a wide array of plants, moths, butterflies, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals-including frequent visits by the odd leopard.

Training:


  • Postgraduate Diploma Course In Wildlife Management

The Postgraduate Diploma Course in Wildlife Management of nine month's duration, imparts training in biological, ecological, management, ecodevelopment and human dimension aspects of wildlife conservation besides imparting skills that are most appropriate to today's conservation situation and needs.

  • Course In Wildlife

The 3-month Certificate Course offers instruction in the practical aspects of wildlife management. It is primarily designed for in-service Forest Range Officers or its equivalent ranks.

  • Short Courses

Short courses and workshops of one to three weeks duration are conducted on specific themes and techniques in various subject areas relating to wildlife conservation and management.
