Welham Girls School has grown from initial strength of 10 students to 600 students. Started by Founder and Principal Miss Linnell started as a full fledged boarding school.

The school is located located at the foothills of the Himalayas in Dehradun. Through extracurricular cultural activities and 'greater education programmes', Welham promotes understanding of all religions and cultures in its students.

Welham has an exchange programme with the Millfield School in England.

Welhams has a number of clubs and societies:

Young Enthusiasts for Literature (YEL)
Young Enthusiasts for Art (YEA)

There are a number of extra curricular activities present in the school and every girls is required to take part in at least two activities according to her interest so as bring out the inner-side of girl.

The School & Science magazine News and Views, Kshitij , Delphic are published in alternate months.
